HORNED MELON

No need to be afraid of the horned melon. Its appearance may be dramatic and maybe even a little intimidating, but inside it’s mild and inviting. The fruit, also known as the kiwano, tastes like a blend of cucumber and kiwifruit. Low in calories and rich in vitamin C, the horned melon is bright orange when ripe. After cutting the fruit in half, simply squeeze out the sacs and seeds into your mouth for a delicious treat. Horned melons have a long self life at room temperature and are often used as a decorative centerpiece.
