Indian eggplant is a member of a fairly large family, and like all eggplants, it is related to the tobacco plant. Fruits are egg shaped and egg sized! Typically, the diameter of Indian eggplant ranges from 2 to 2.5 inches. The skin is usually dark purple and the fruit has a green calyx, often causing it to be labeled “baby” eggplant.
