EPAZOTE

Epazote is native to southern Mexico, Central and South America. It typically grows as an annual or short lived perennial and reaches a height of 3 to 4 feet. The leaves are oblong in shape, 4 to 5 inches in length. Often used to flavor bean dishes, it is thought to have carminative properties (and reduces flatulence). Epazote has been widely used in medicines and medical research.
